2022 Ford Edge vs. Chevrolet Equinox

2022 Ford Edge vs Chevrolet Equinox

Overview

The Chevrolet Equinox and the Ford Edge offer a variety of engines and lively driving characteristics. In terms of value per dollar, both beat most of the market. Let's take a deeper look at the Ford Edge versus the Chevy Equinox and compare the latest editions.

The Interiors

The inside of the Equinox is athletic but simple and uses an 8-inch touch screen. Adults might find the rear seats a little cramped. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa are standard features, as is a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The Ford Edge gets similar features along with dual-zone automatic temperature control and a 12-inch screen with wireless phone connections, SiriusXM, and a six-speaker audio system. The real outlying factor for the interior is cargo space: 39.2 cubic feet in the Edge over Equinox's 29.9 cubic feet.

Engine and Transmission

The 2022 Ford Edge outperforms the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox with a more powerful standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and standard all-wheel drive. The Equinox comes standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel-drive versions will cost extra. Depending on the engine chosen, horsepower ranges from 170 to 237.
The SE, SEL, and Titanium editions of the 2022 Ford Edge SUVs are powered by an EcoBoost 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, while the Edge ST is powered by a more powerful 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine with an innovative seven-speed automated gearbox. The horsepower ratings easily beat those of the Equinox at 250 to 335 horsepower.

There's a lot more that makes the latest Ford Edge and Chevy Equinox different, like the engines and cargo volume. What's more, the Edge also has greater overall passenger volume. All told, the Edge stands out as the better value.
